LEMON & LIME

Several days ago I attended my cousin's wedding. It was just right after our 2nd day of finals. Since I had an exam hours before the wedding I was "expected" to be late. Fashionably late to be exact! ;)

There is something about weddings. I don't know why but it just makes me cry or at least teary-eyed. For this particular wedding my mom was their "Ninang" (Principal sponsor!) and she was obliged to give a speech for the newly weds. Her speech was about "Based on her experiences on her marriage" and she also told them that "There is no formula in a perfect marriage! It's the two of you who gotta work it out and make it work". While she was teary-eyed doing her speech her youngest daughter (Which is me!) was crying at her seat and being laughed at by other adults! Poor me. (Haha!) Apology for being an emotional wreck ;)

Since it was finals and I was pretty much a busy bee with all the exams, thesis and whatnot. I had an itsy-bitsy time to prepare. (Blame it on finals!). Thank goodness I have a closet filled with clothes and it was up to me (Creativity included!) to mix and match and come up with an outfit perfect for a wedding!

I'm such a big fan of color-blocking (Obviously seen in my posts! Teehee.) that I applied it to my   #OOTD for my cousin's wedding though I didn't follow their color scheme which was "pink" (Hey, don't look at me!). Yellow and mint are such a good-looking pair! Don't you think? Me thinks so too!

For on-the-spot-events or like you weren't informed that it was today (Just like my case!). Nothing to wear? All you have to do is mix & match everything that is in your closet and let that creative mind lead your way in putting up an outfit that fits for the event and at the same time stylish and comfy!

To complete my #OOTD I just added some simple minimal pieces just to compliment my lemon & lime pair. Don't want to overwhelm and overload unnecessary stuffs! ;)

SEMBREAK 2K13 DIARY: PARADISE

What to do on a sembreak? Well I got a lot of plans constructed on my mind but not even one has been accomplished (Thanks to my lazybutt!). So for the past few days I'm stuck here in our "paradise", waiting for something to happen. (Hangout, maybe?)

One of my favorite past times is reading novels (I guess I'm a bookworm?). My current read for now is David Levithan's "The Lover's Dictionary". It is about the story of a relationship told as a dictionary. (Isn't it so creative?! Uggh gotta love David!). Actually, I've been eye-ing on this novel for like several months ago. I just couldn't buy it because it's kinda expensive. But then God loved me so much that He put it on sale. (Big Hooray for Fullybooked!)

I just couldn't help myself in having a little bit of an intimate relationship with our pool. I mean, who couldn't say no to it? Everytime you glance at it, it's like pulling you near and have a little taste of summer. And oh, the crystal clear water was also tempting! ;)

I just love the color combination of my bikinis. Isn't it just perfect with the crystal clear blue water? They compliment each other in every angle! ;)

Farrah Fawcett

October 25. The mark of my mom's dual citizenship. The day she's a year older. The beginning of her senior's citizenship. Happy birthday Mama Bear! I will always be one lucky bastard for having a mom like you. I couldn't ask for more. Best Mom Award definitely goes to you! I love you to the moon and back a gazillion times over and more. (Hyperbole-ing & I mean it!)

This milestone is worth celebrating and so my mom threw a grand debut party for her 6oth birthday. (Grander than my debut & my dad's! Haha) The theme for her party is Hawaiian (since we have a pool and our residence is more of a resort than a house. Lol!) so I opted to wear florals and midrib corset than straw skirts and hard coco shells bra. Reminds me of myself a long time ago dancing to "Pearly shells". Haha!

For my #OOTD I wore a floral skater skirt that shockingly glowed in the night. I paired it with a midrib corset top and added a floral wreath around my head for a Hawaiian feels. What do you think? Am I a Lilo or what? Definitely not Stitch! ;)

So what's with the title? Uhmm if you have noticed I entitled my post because of my hair. It just resembles the infamous hair of Farah Fawcett. Look at the flares on the side of the hair. So Farrah chic! ;)

Jane Porter

October 24. A day before my Mom's grand dual citizenship debut (If you know what I mean! :p). So me and my sibs had a last errand before the party, so we were out and about in Davao to scout for some last minute touch ups.

My siblings told me that my #OOTD was "safari" looking (Insert Katy Perry's "Roar") maybe because of my palladium boots. Actually this wasn't my first choice, I opted for my Steve Madden gold strap sandals but then again I thought "I've been over using this!" and so they needed a rest.

Every time I go to #HomeSweetHomePanabo there is always scarcity when it comes to my clothes. I don't have that much clothes in my hometown because they're all in Davao and I'm too lazy to pack them all up and bring to Panabo.(Lazy ass here! :D)  I know! It sucks to have two residences. So I borrowed my sissy's top which I picked for her during our tip to Mnl. Not so bad, huh? ;)

Don't I just look like Jane Porter in my 'safari-looking' outfit? As you can see I'm sitting here in the bench waiting for my 'Tarzan' to come. I just hope he won't be wearing a somewhat "bahag" or worse naked! O.O (Haha!)

FOOD BLOG: Yellow Hauz

There are times when I like to be alone. Sometimes I like the feeling of somewhat being "aloof" but not all the time though. Having a company is much more fun and exciting! Right? I'm happy being around my friends and "minions" (Hahaha!) too but there are times I just want to be with myself. #MeTime! :)

One of the places I love to hangout whenever I'm alone is the Yellow Hauz. I love being here it makes me do stuffs that I can't whenever company is there. I can read my novels without any interruptions, I can study here because it is so quiet and not so crowded (unlike others), and I can do my blogger duties here :)

Since I do a lot of reading here I'm going to share to you my current read, the one I'm reading right now is "Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto" by Eric Luper. It is about that four-letter-word again. Love, in all forms. Love for family, friends, and everything in between. This novel explores what love is, why love is, and why we're stupid enough to keep going back for more. Okay enough with love let's move on to the food (My other love!).

 (Tomato & Garlic Pizza)

I've been here a lot of times so I already tried a lot of their food. So let's start with the pizza, this is my fave pizza among other pizzas. Since I can't eat all other pizzas in the menu (because they contain meat) this one I proclaim as my favorite. I know its so simple with all the cheese, garlic, & tomato but hey it's still delicious. Don't judge a book by its cover! ;)

(Upper: Rose Mary Chicken. Lower: Tuna Garlic Pasta)

They also serve meals with rice as well as pastas if you're not really into pizzas and sandwiches. My sister ordered the Rose Mary Chicken she said that it was "blah". It was also dry and just "blah". So I guess hearing from her comments its obviously not that good. But they say "To see is to believe" but in this case it's "To taste is to believe" well go ahead! ;)

Of all the foods in their menu, Tuna garlic pasta is the bomb! My favorite-of-all-time (here in Yellow Hauz. Haha!) When I first tried this that was the time I actually appreciated the taste of "tuna" and realizations sinked in, "Where have you been all my life?!" (Haha!) It is just so good! And I do recommend you to try this. If you're a fan of tuna, mushroom, and olive this is the dish for you! As you can see I piled on the onions and pepper at the side of my plate. (O.C me!) #DontJudge!

And oh some tips, eat this pasta while it is still hot. It's not really that "yummy" when it gets cold ;) Trust me, I've been there!

(Left: Grilled Garlic & Cheese Sandwich. Right: Chocolate & Mint blended coffee)

Honestly, I didn't really enjoyed this sandwich as much as I did with their tuna melt. I didn't really taste the garlic, the cheese was so overpowering that they should've just named it "Cheese Sandwich".

Another favorite of mine, is their chocolate and mint blended coffee. One of my two favorite things piled into one. I mean, who doesn't like choco and mint together! They're inseparable!

 (Banana & Strawberry Milkshake)

My milkshake brings all the boys in the yard and they're like.. Okay enough. This song just gets in my mind every time I order a milkshake. (Haha!) Their milkshakes are also a must! I prefer them over their smoothies which has an obvious fake taste. (You know the powdery and syrup kind of taste). One thing I hate though, it is so creamy that I have a hard time sipping all of it. Or maybe the straw is just so thin that it can't compensate their milkshakes' creaminess.

(Tuna Melt Sandwich and Sola Raspberry Iced Tea)

It doesn't look any different from their Grilled garlic & cheese sandwich. Nothing special though, just tastes like other tuna melt sandwiches in the town.

(Macaroons)

It's actually my first time to try macaroons. I didn't really liked it at all. It didn't meet my expectations. Like they say, "Looks can be deceiving!" and their colors too! I mean, who can't say no to these adorably cute pastel colors? What I love about macaroons is that they melt inside your mouth. Don't you think?

So if you want a peaceful and quiet place who plays a lot of indie songs (Yes I'm a fan of the Indies!!!), Yellow Hauz is the one!
